It was our time to head into the mountains—to do outreach and take the opportunity to walk along the newly constructed trail roads. The local Nepali leaders were full of passion, eager to reach places where the gospel has rarely been heard. They also hoped to follow up with new believers who are standing alone in their faith, to encourage them, strengthen them, and equip them to continue growing in Christ—and boldly share the good news with their communities.
After we arrived last night in this cold, misty mountain area, we gathered for prayer. Physically, I wasn’t feeling well, and I honestly didn’t think I could manage all the intense climbing required to reach the homes scattered across these remote villages. So I prayed, asking God to intervene and make a way.
Then suddenly, a church leader and a government official came with unexpected news:
“A new believer passed away today. He was only 41 years old. When the community heard that you were here, they invited you to attend the funeral. This man specifically requested a Christian service.”
In that moment, I sensed the Lord answering my prayer. Instead of climbing from mountain to mountain, He opened a way for many to hear the gospel in one gathering.
The next morning, it happened just as we had prayed. Many gathered. The good news of Jesus Christ was shared boldly. This one man, though young in age and faith, remained steadfast. He chose to follow Jesus even when no one else around him did. His death became a testimony:
“ONE DEATH OF A NEW BELIEVER BROUGHT MANY TO CHRIST!”
Now, on my second day in the mountains of Makwanpur, Nepal, I’m reminded again that LIFE IS TOO SHORT. Without Christ, life truly is just a vapor in the wind.
Please continue to pray for us—we’ll be leading more training today. May the gospel go deeper and further.
