Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda was such an alarming tragedy that caught most of us by surprise through its magnitude of devastation. Central Philippines were totally devastated specifically in Tacloban, Ormoc, Leyte and some parts in Iloilo and Cebu. Unfortunately, the official death toll as of November 19, 2013 reached near 5,000. A lot of Filipinos lost their love ones, homes, jobs, opportunities, and possessions. Many were traumatized but many victims were amazed on how God spared their lives. They called this as a Monster Typhoon for it brought extreme damage to infrastructure throughout the Visayan region.
After our evening intercession, there were exchange of insights and opinions from the students, staffs and leaders regarding the said tragedy. Everyone agreed with Dr. Paul Kim that we need to continually pray and ask the Lord for His mercy and grace. To also ask forgiveness for the sins of this nation.
We need to bring comfort and help by showing Christ’s love for them that they are not abandoned. Let us continue to preach His message of salvation and hope. We believe that the churches all over the world are interceding for the Philippines.
To God be the glory, Jireh Missions our partner here in Samal, Philippines received 60 orphans who were victims from Tacloban through the help of Sir Orly Amit our MM Asia board member.
Now, we are motivating you to help, give comfort and love for this people to rise up again and bring hope in the Philippines. For there’s more work to do in the Kingdom of God. Let’s help together hand in hand for this ministry.
