“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
One of my daily routine is to go out to market and buy fresh pumpkin flowers and moringa leaves. At first, vendors were not giving much attention to me whenever I pass by their shops. But one day I was speaking with Roshan in English and people started to ask who we are. I smiled as usual and tell them that we are Filipinos. Their second question was am I working in casino like many other Filipinos in Poipet. This is the open door for me to tell them that I am a Christian and starting to share about Jesus and friendship started to be developed. This is also the start of being known in the market place. The vendors just so sweet and friendly not because I am a foreigner buying their products but because they see and feel something different the way I relate with them. Through our actions and words we are reflecting the life of Jesus in us! Mahatma Gandhi once said, “I like their Christ but not the Christians”. He stated this because many claiming who are Christians but not living like Christ. We ought to emit the real “Light” in us in order for others to see their dim path. Let us share our faith, live and act like Christ!
It is my very heart’s desire to be closed to the women in the market as well as in village we are ministering. My heart is always struck seeing mothers being together in one place and playing cards instead of planting in their small backyards and taking care to their malnourish children. I am praying to the Lord the right approach to touch these women. I desire to see them not only giving their lives to God but also to become responsible moms. We covet your prayers for them.
